Looking ahead... July 20th

So it is always good to look ahead at what is coming out at the theaters and to decide whether anything is worth the trip to the theater or if you should stay home and relax. Some weekends are going to be crazy and must see films will be in theaters, like Harry Potter, and others weeks you should forget about a theater experience, like Transformers 3. So what movies this week are worth watching? Read on to find out...

Captain America: The First Avenger
This is definitely the movie to see this weekend! Marvel seems to really get it together just in time to create a mass build up to The Avengers next summer. This movie follows Steve Rogers as he goes from puny skinny kid from the streets to super soldier superhero. He will have to face off against Hitler and Red Skull to help the fight during WWII. Comic books fans have said so far that its a awesome movie and that Joe Johnston was able to capture the man in red, white, and blue perfectly. Chris Evans has definitely shown us that he can act, Sunshine, and hopefully he will be able to combine that together with action to bring us a true Captain America experience. Not only that but Hugo Weaving should be fun to watch as the maniacal Red Skull. Lastly the real reason to see this movie is that an The Avengers teaser trailer is attached to it at the end which is obviously a must see. So take time to go to the theater for this flick.

Friends With Benefits
While this movie is almost a direct copy of No Strings Attached, some people are still going to enjoy this film. This film follows Timberlake and Kunis as they decide to become sex buddies instead of dealing with emotional trauma from relationships. If you don't see where this movie is going then I'm worried about you. If you like Easy A you might enjoy this because its from the same director. It has somewhat of a nice cast and has somewhat of a potential. In the long run though this movie is not worth your money at the theater. Watch No Strings Attached if you need a fix and just wait until this one comes out on DVD. Nothing here that your going to need to see in theaters.

Another Earth
This will not be a widespread mainstream favorite but this movie is not meant to be. If your looking for a deep emotionally driven film than this is your fix this weekend. The film follows a group of people after the discover of a duplicate Earth. This is your classic artsy Sundance films but those films are right up my alley and I know I will be checking this movie out. This is definitely a sleeper film and worth the watch if you can get to it but know that not everyone will be able to enjoy this film.

So to rank the films this weekend I will go: Captain America, Another Earth, and Friends With Benefits.
So what movies are you excited for? What will you go see?
